5 tips on how you can ensure your PropTech business cuts through the noise in 2025 and beyond
By Hollie Moore
At Building Relations, we have been working with propTech clients since we opened our doors – in fact, propTech was the subject of our very first roundtable event back in 2018!
We like to think of ourselves as ahead of the curve when it comes to cutting edge communications, and we are well versed in delivering successful media strategies in the propTech sphere.
PropTech isn’t a new phenomenon, but it’s rapidly gaining momentum. From 2016 to 2024, investment in UK propTech surged from £172.38m to a staggering £2.66bn, with a further 13% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) expected from 2024 to 2029.
The UK property and construction industry is now firmly taking advantage of the innovations that propTech has to offer, with propTech on the agenda for the foreseeable. Whether it’s streamlining property transactions, providing cutting edge data on construction sites, or offering augmented reality experiences for consumers, there are endless examples of how propTech is enhancing the property and construction sector.
The UK propTech market is one of the largest in the world, with more than 900 propTech companies operating as of last year, and rising. In an increasingly oversaturated market, to ensure your SaaS (Software as a Solution) stands out from the crowd, curating a comprehensive communications strategy is key.
What are our five top tips for PR that cuts through the noise?
It’s all in a name
First things first: nailing your branding. We don’t need to tell you that the name of a business can make or break its success – or at the very least, its SEO rankings, which is pretty much the same thing. We can work with you in the development stage of your propTech company, helping you to devise both a name and logo that truly sets you apart.
Understanding your USP
Be clear on the problem you have identified, and how your software directly solves the issue. With hundreds, if not thousands, of propTech companies out there, you need to be clear on why customers should choose you. We can work with you on bespoke messaging to ensure we articulate the best words and phrases that both resonate with your brand whilst targeting your ideal customer.
Choosing the right moment
We know how exciting it is when you want to launch to the market – but make sure you are ready! Journalists will want to know the detail and may even be interested to see the software directly. Make sure you are ready to go, with data-backed results. Bonus points if you have data or testimonials from the testing phase of the product that we can leverage.
Decide on your spokesperson/people
It’s important to have a strong spokesperson, preferably the CEO, Founder or equivalent, that can not only be quoted in press releases but can speak to journalists if required. You will need to be confident in speaking your opinion – the bolder the opinion, the greater your chances of securing column inches. We can support with relevant media training to ensure you are fully confident before speaking to press.
Trust your PR agency
Finally – trust your PR agency! We are experts in the propTech business, and know how to make you stand out to your target media. Trust our guidance, and we will deliver the best results to ensure you are a cut above the rest.
