Building Relations Appoints its First Sustainability PR Account Director
Specialist Property PR Agency Building Relations has announced the hire of its first-ever Sustainability PR Director. This strategic move underscores the PR agency’s dedication to promote the best sustainable practices in the housing, property and construction industry throughout the UK. Sustainability is a hotly discussed topic in the housing industry – and never more so than now with changes around the UK’s green policies afoot.
As its new Sustainability Director, Natalie Daniels will play a pivotal role in shaping Building Relations PR’s sustainability agenda, fostering eco-friendly practices, and integrating sustainability into the core of the agency’s operations. Natalie joins Building Relations in their London office having moved from Savills where she previously worked to raise the profile of its specialist ESG division, Savills Earth.
At Building Relations, Natalie will be working closely with the agency’s leadership team to create and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with Building Relations PR’s values and goals. She will also work with clients from the agency’s’ London, Surrey and Edinburgh offices – to support and communicate the best sustainability initiatives, sharing insights and best practices as they transform to a carbon neutral net zero future by 2050.
Building Relations PR believes that incorporating sustainability into its business model is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to create lasting positive impacts on society and the environment. The appointment reflects the agency’s commitment to being a pioneer in sustainable public relations.
Rachel Colgan MD of Building Relations says: “The conversation around sustainable practices in housing is advancing at a rapid pace. As a specialist property PR agency, it is essential that not only are we putting our clients in the conversation but that we are leading in the discussion. Despite the significant role that housing plays in carbon production, the industry is beginning to take significant steps to decarbonise their property portfolios and mitigate against climate risk, designing and retrofitting buildings that will stand the test of time.
She continues: “The industry needs to ensure it’s tackling this issue by being transparent and honest in its communications – and have an understanding of what ‘industry-leading’ best practice looks like. It is fantastic to bring Natalie’s specialist skills to the team to help our clients to confidently share their own Net Zero story.”
Natalie comments “It’s really exciting to be joining Building Relations and to work with their clients right across the UK to help guide, shape and communicate their ESG achievements and goals. It is no secret that the built environment plays a significant role in the UK’s net zero ambitions and so I am delighted to come on board to help embed ESG into BR’s service offering and help make greenwashing a thing of the past.”
