Berkeley invites community to take part in photo competition celebrating nature
Award winning local housebuilder Berkeley Homes has launched a photography and drawing competition open to all residents local to the Woodhurst Park development in Warfield for a chance to win a Polaroid instant camera.
The housebuilder has also teamed up with local schools including Warfield Primary School and Garth Hill College to kick off the entries, with pupils able to submit their own photographs as well as drawings of the local country park and Warfield’s surrounding countryside.
The competition aims to celebrate landscapes and nature as the season changes, encouraging families to explore local nature trails and capture what they see. From snapping bursts of vivid Autumn colour, to picturing local wildlife searching for seeds and berries, entrants are encouraged to get back to nature and away from life behind a screen after a year of virtual learning.
Benjamin Ivey, Sales and Marketing Director for Berkeley Homes (Oxford and Chiltern), comments: “Woodhurst Park makes for a particularly great place to go and explore, surrounded by 65 acres of natural parkland. Our village green and pond, orchard park, tree-lined riverside cut and nature trails give this development a true back to nature quality and we hope this competition celebrates that while allowing kids and families to have some fun. We look forward to receiving all of the submissions and wish our budding local artists the best of luck!”
The winners of the competition will receive an Instax or Polaroid instant camera, which will be handed over at a prize ceremony at the Woodhurst Park Sales and Marketing Suite, where the best pictures will be on display for the public to see. Two runners up in each of the three age categories (11 years and under, 12 to 17 years and 18 years and over) will receive a £25 Amazon voucher.
Entries will remain open until Tuesday 30th November and should be submitted to competition.berkeley@building-relations.co.uk. Entries can also be submittedin person to the sales and marketing suite at Woodhurst Park, or on Instagram with the hashtag #StepIntoWHP and by tagging @berkeley_group.
Submissions will be judged by local photographer Karen Bennett and the Berkeley Homes Sales and Marketing Director.
The tight-knit neighbourhood in Warfield continues to grow as Woodhurst Park nears completion. Already over 560 homes have been moved into since 2015, and once complete in 2025, the scheme will consist of over 750 properties. The development currently has two and three-bed houses available, with prices starting from £397,500.
