We thought that event season was meant to be later in the year, but the last few weeks have seen us work on a raft of high-profile events at some of London’s finest venues.

At County Hall, on Wednesday 1st February, Minister of State for Housing and Planning, Gavin Barwell, attended our client, The Leasehold Advisory Service’s, Annual Conference and announced that a much-needed White Paper on the regulation of leasehold was ‘imminent’. This was just days before the Housing White Paper came out, which saw Sajid Javid reaffirm this message. We look forward to the announcement of the Leasehold White Paper.

Building Relations was busy on the day live tweeting, which resulted in #lease2017 trending by the end of the day! Our team worked closely with the Comms team at the DCLG (Department for Communities and Local Government) to finalise a press release, which was sent out to all national and trade media the morning after the event.

Meanwhile, just a week later, the Building Relations team was out in full force at our client the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards shortlist celebration and voting launch, which was held in the prestigious Speaker’s Rooms in the House of Commons on the evening of Wednesday 8th February. It was a wonderful evening held in a spectacular venue (we were particularly amazed by the grand Speaker’s State Bed, which was on display and where reputedly Queen Victoria slept the night before the Coronation – it was a huge talking point for the evening!) Building Relations was busy on the night entertaining journalists and had the chance to mingle with some of our own clients, who had been shortlisted for these great awards. We look forward now to the FTB Readers’ Awards in April where the overall winners will be celebrated. If you want to vote, visit the website www.ftbawards.com or if you wish to tweet about the awards, please use #ftbawards.

We hope that the season continues as well as it has started and we get to sample some more of London’s top venues!
